Smalljaw Bulk Tackle
Original Peanut Head Finesse Jig
For years this 1/4 oz Finesse Jig has caught its share of smallmouth. Great for that deep or shallow finesse bite. I have always sold them by the dozen for one reason. Light line finesse baits fished around cover and big smallmouth, you might need a few more when you are out there. You might be suprised how good they will come through cover though. I normally fish a small chunk behind them and like the natural presentation theliving rubber offers with color and fall. Now avalible in 1/2 dozen counts and made with your choice of a light wire hook or and more stout black nickel hook..

Big Hammer Swimbaits
Big Hammer was and is a dominate force in the salt water bait market. Now, thanks to one of our own, Keith Palmiero, it is a force in the fresh water world too. Keith bought and fished many different swim baits before finding and catching on to Big Hammer. Keith brought this swim bait to the smalljaw community and found that Smallmouth Bass will "Hammer" it. Keith shared his new found bait and knowledge with the outside fishing communitys and now Big Hammer has become a lot of first choice baits while on the water. Now many have bought, fished and help refine the swim bait techniques. Round Head Tube Jig
Great for tubes. Slides in easy and the eye sits right where it need to be when used.
Shad Head Jig
The Shad Head is perfect for the Big Hammer Swim Bait. Always help to put a drop of super glue to help hod the bait on longer. Available in several different hooks.
Shad Head Jig w/Treble

Football Lead Head
First to see it here on Smalljaw. The football head is a popular fishing tool these days and now you can football rig (Carolina Rig) and use it with many different baits with a Texas rig style. The hole is in the center instead of the normal egg singers with the hole at both ends. I made this and used it this spring and found I had better feel with the bottom with more of the lead covering the bottom when pulled instead of the traditional style sinkers. Available in different weight sizes.

The hottest new rig on the market today. The football head with screw lock is the new shakey head with a lot of soft plastics used today. I also use the football jig head with tubes using the exposed hook method. Available in 1/8,1/4, 3/8, 1/2 & 5/8 ounce heads with a 3/0 or 4/0 Gamakatsu 60 degree flat eye hook. The New Smalljaw Top Jaw Football Jig is perfect for a small shakey head or just dead stick it on the bottom around schools of fish that might not yet be feeding. Gets them fired up!

Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth Rod
I have enjoyed the chance to fish different sizes and actions of Fenwick Rods for the elusive smallmouth bass. Both the Smallmouth Bass and Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth Rods are a perfect match for the Top of the Food Chain. When fishing for smallmouth there are several aspects and actions the smallmouth angler looks for in a rod. First, I like a good strong backbone to drive the hook and a good parabolic bend with plenty of forgiveness in the tip to not break light line. Second, sensitivity to feel light strikes in deep water and on windy banks. In my personal opinion Fenwick has done that. Visibility of the rod will also help catch the eye of the angler. From the grip, color and weight of the rod is an A+. You can count on the smallmouth angler to travel and spend money for quality in whatever the market provides to the angler. Fenwick is releasing a 10 rod lure specific smallmouth line in September of this year. The Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth series has many different sizes to choose from. This series starts with a 6 foot 3 inch all the way to a 7 foot 4 inch rod. Both delivered in casting and spinning making it versatile to both the shallow or deep water angler. Long cast are a must for smallmouth fishing in deep clear water lakes. The Elite Tech Series makes this possible with the fast tips, top of the line ceramic guides and the split grip for easy handling. This series of rods have great action and light weight for quick hook sets and leave you in great control for handling the strong bronze backs. Like most anglers I have several rods in my rod locker, but found myself more and more pulling out the Elite Tech Smallmouth Rod for this spring. It has become one of my favorites and I know they will be a great addition to the Smalljaw community![]() |

Ben Parker's: Bass Under Glass, Unlocking Mega Schools. Video

From spring time to early fall Ben Parker fishes on the Bassmaster Elite Series Tour. He is known widely as an electronics guru. In between his tournament schedule Ben offers a personal one on one electronics training lesson where he jumps in your boat and takes a close inspection of your electronics. In most cases people want to see what large schools of bass look like on today's side imaging and structure scans so he spends a few hours on the water getting a closer look. However Ben will focus a lesson on what you are struggling to learn. Ben also has part one of his new DVD series just released called "Bass Under Glass." In this video Ben shows what settings he uses and gives a brief description about gaining a better perspective of what your seeing on your electronics. He then goes out of Kentucky Lake during mid July and shows what "Mega Schools" of bass look like and then catches a few to prove what he is seeing. The video is filled with screen snapshots of the actual schools of fish as well as many other examples. This video is almost 1 hour and has lots of useful information.
I watched this video and learned a lot. In my book it's one to watch.Easy to understand, great sound and awesome visibility. Ar
